The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has announced 1,000 online scholarships for Afghanistan students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies during the 2026–2027 academic year.
According to the council’s official announcement, applications will be accepted from July 15 to July 24, 2026. Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the iLearn portal. The scholarships cover online degree programs offered by Indian universities and higher education institutions.
The ICCR scholarship program was previously conducted through in-person study in India. However, following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021 and the subsequent restrictions on the issuance of Indian visas to Afghanistan citizens, the program for Afghanistan students was converted to an online format.
The online scholarship initiative is intended to provide Afghanistan students with continued access to higher education opportunities despite ongoing travel and visa limitations.
