At least 11 Afghan nationals have been executed in Iran over the past four months, with the latest case involving Gol Mohammad Mohammadi, whose execution was carried out at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, according to Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency.

The Iran Human Rights Organization says the right to a fair trial is systematically violated in death penalty cases. The organization also reports that the families of those sentenced to death are often subjected to pressure and intimidation to prevent them from speaking publicly about the executions.

Meanwhile, the Kurdish human rights organization Hengaw previously reported that at least 85 Afghan citizens were executed in Iran during 2025 alone, raising growing concerns among human rights groups over the increasing number of executions of Afghan nationals in the country.
